Every day you make choices, some of which you don't realize you are making. You get out of bed, you brush your teeth, you go to work, all of these are generally unconscious choices that you make. Your unconscious choices are usually routine activities, habitual things that you do without even thinking about it. This is living on autopilot, and while doing this you may complain that your life sucks, and that you have no choice but to live that way. Not true, you always have the power to choose! Switch OFF your autopilot and start driving your life in the direction you want it to go. The first step is to start being aware of the choices you are making each day. Creating an awareness is key for anyone wanted to take control of their own destiny! You don't have control over others, and you certainly don't have control of all the events happening around you, but what you can control is how you react. If you want to make changes, then you must take responsibility and understand that you are the only one that can do this. The only person responsible for YOUR life is YOU! Don't blame others, don't blame circumstances, just own it! To make lasting changes you will need to take stock of what your beliefs and values are. Your beliefs about yourself, your current situation, your ideal life and what your true vision for your future is. This is always a bit of an eye opener as what you think you want on the surface isn't always what you truly want. Your vision for your future must reflect your beliefs and your core values.
Where you are now is an exact result of all the decisions you have made up until today. Where you go in the future will be the exact result of all the decisions you make from today. Living an intentional life will require you to make conscious decisions each and every day. Remember that every choice you make in life has a consequence, so choose wisely! Don't live in fear of your choices; what is important is that you make a conscious choice, and whether it turns out favourable or not, you have taken responsibility for that choice. It won't always work out, and that is fine, but it is better than leaving it to chance. Your choices start with the thoughts that are constantly running through your mind. If you let negative thoughts flood your mind then you will, without doubt, have a negative kind of day. If you choose to ignore the negative thoughts and think positively, you will have a totally different experience throughout your day. Try it! Your thoughts are so powerful that they can literally make or break you. I can fully attest to this as I can still clearly remember those deeply negative days. Through the choices I have made I no longer have those days, which is why I want to help you live a better life. No-one should be suffering with negative perception as it causes low self-esteem, loneliness, anxiety and many other health issues.
