The importance of today!
How many times have you put things off until tomorrow, next week, next month? What is wrong with just doing it today? If it important enough to you, you will find time today! Several weeks ago my sister informed me of the date for her mastectomy surgery and the first thing I did was to go online and book my flight so that I could be there for her. This is an example of what was important to me. If you tend to procrastinate then it is time to start to prioritize and make sure that some things are getting done today. Constantly deferring is just a habit and it directly affects your progress in life. Lots of my clients complain that they are stuck and the only way to get unstuck is to do something, anything to make a change. These changes do not need to be dramatic and they do need to be propelling you in a forward direction. For example, if you are always starting an exercise regime but never actually get started, then today just go for a walk. It can be just 10 minutes but it is something and gives you a sense of achievement because you got off your butt and did it. This applies to anything you are struggling with in any area of your life. You just need to take some ACTION!
What you have to remember is how precious time is. We can always make more money, but we can never make more time, so use it wisely. Spend your time getting things done, and make sure that these things are important to you. For clients that feel stuck, I always suggest starting with small steps, small goals, to ensure that you can meet them. Even small achievements help to build self-esteem and gives you a sense of empowerment. Empowerment will build with every little achievement and in no time at all you will be soaring. This is called momentum and it can't be produced without that first action step. If setting goals is something that you struggle with, then please contact me to discuss how I can help with this. Today there are so many distractions, especially phones, that pull us away from what is important. When was the last time you watched the sun rise or set? It may happen every day, but don't take it for granted. Use your precious time wisely, doing things that are important to you and spending that time with the people who are important to you. Tomorrow isn't promised to us, so be present in your life today!
